Defragmenting Your Hard Disk

Is it time to defragment your harddisk?

• Run command... WinKey+R
• Disk deframenter... dfrg.msc 
• Analyze

Steps to defragmentation

1. Check free space (min. 15%)

• Window Explorer... WinKey+E
• Local Disk (C:) Properties... Right-click (C:)

2. Run PC in safe mode

• Run command... WinKey+R
• System Configuration Utility... msconfig
• Startup Selection... Diagnostic Startup
• Restart PC... WinKey, U, R

3. Defragment harddisk

• Run command... WinKey+R
• Disk deframenter... dfrg.msc
• Defragment

4. Return pc to normal mode

• * Run command... WinKey+R
• * Startup Selection... Normal Startup
• * Restart PC... WinKey, U, R
